The first of many!

Welcome everyone to the very first blog Post for Year 6R. Please be aware that although we do have a class blog, we will also have individual blog which will be linked to this post (please check the side bar of the blog for links to our individual blogs).

In our very first Post, we are going to provide you with advice on general blogging etiquette and rules associated with this blog and other blogs connected to 6R. So, without any further interruption, please take a look at some of our blogging guidelines. Please don't worry about forgetting these rules as they have been copied onto one of the pages of this blog.

The following guidelines are taken from an edublog recommended blog site called Mr Salsich's third grade explorations in learning

Blog Guidelines

The class blog is a way for us to share our ideas and our learning with other people. Sharing our learning means that it is very important that you/we understand how to use the blog and the internet in a secure way.
The following guidelines have been established to ensure the safety of our students when blogging. The guidelines are also reminders of how to use the blog to improve writing and keyboarding skills.

  1. Students work will only be identified by first names or initials. All comments should have first names or initials only.
  2. Parents who leave comments are asked not to use last names either. (Please post comments as “Tommy’s mum” or “Meg’s grandfather”, etc.)
  3. All comments submitted have to be approved by Mr Willis/the student bloggers before they are included on the blog(s).
  4. Inappropriate or overly-informal writing will not be allowed.
  5. Please proof-read your comments carefully.
  6. In nearly all cases only Mr Willis or the student bloggers have access to post things on this/their blogs. An exception to this might be when another student/teacher/guest blogger is invited to submit a post (in draft form) to Mr Willis/the student blogger. Mr Willis/the student blogger will then decide if the post is appropriate for the blog.
  7. Always write in full sentences and words – no “text talk” please!
