Sucked in by a Story!

That's exactly how I felt when I read some of these incredible stories by 6R. Here are a selection of splendid story sections from 6R's tale-tellers and myth-makers.

Title: A Wild Ride

“And now,” Mr. Armester began, “Please pack your bags, school in over.”   Poppy grabbed her bag, and raced out the school gates, not even saying goodbye. She ran all the way to the animal centre. Today was the day. She was finally getting a pet. She took a deep breath, and walked through the centre door. Following the signs to the pet section, she saw the perfect pet. Sitting cleaning itself was a cat with 5 tiny teeny kittens. The mother was black, and there were two black kittens, one white, and another patched orange, white and black and finally, the smallest, and orange one. She saw a sign next to them saying:

Buy the mom, get the kittens free.

She squealed with delight. Then, remembering her mom, she raced to the entrance.

Her mom was there, with her little sister, Annie.
“Mom, Mom!” she panted. “I found them, their perfect.”
“They?” she asked. “Poppy i’m only aloud to pay for buying one! It’s not my money its your Dad's!” she exclaimed.
“Come see!” Poppy insisted. “You’ll love them!”
Her mom sighed and followed Poppy to the cage. “ Buy the mom, get the kittens free.” she read. And sighed. “Fine, but your the one talking to your dad.” Poppy smiled and ran to get a assistant.

Poppy sat in the car next to the cat’s cage. The kittens meowed a lot, but it seemed their mom got annoyed of it, because she scoffed them on the ear. The rest of the journey went by pleasantly.

At home Poppy placed the carrier on the floor of the kitchen. Her mom quickly shut the door. ‘We have to get them used to one room first.’ she explained. Poppy nodded and opened the carrier door. The mom was off like a bullet. All the kittens followed close behind. She sniffed the room. Poppy sat on the floor and the mom cautiously came up to her. She sat as still as she ever had in her life. The mom came up, pawed her, and then sat heavily on her lap. All the kittens followed, and they ended up falling over.
‘They’re do cute.’ exclaimed Poppy. ‘What are we going to name them?’
‘Well,’ said her mother, ‘You could name the mother Midnight, Middy for short, because of her colour.’
‘Yes!’ shouted Poppy, ‘And we could name the black kitten MoonLight, Moonie for short, and the other one Star.’
‘What about the others?’

After half an hour of choosing, finally they had it right.

The white one was Angel, the patchy one was Apricot, the two black where Moonlight and Star, and the orange one was Maple.

The Dark Below
book one
THe darkness

Prologue
A time long long ago there was a village, and in that village there was a house, but this was no ordinary house, this was the house of Connor and Michael, two brothers. It was not huge but it was good enough for them. On the walls there were countless numbers of paintings, of every shape and size. These two brothers had some good attributes and there were some that sometimes got on people's nerves. Like Connor, he had a habit of collecting rocks, then smashing them together. Or Michael would sometimes sit down and read for hours on end, not taking notice of anyone. This got annoying eventually, as when Michael’s mother called them for dinner, he wouldn't come so she would have to go upstairs to his room and pull him from his book.

The day our tale begins, a large, meteor was circling the earth then it came into contact with the planet’s gravitational pull and came plummeting down from the sky, the great beyond down through the air gathering speed as it went. Maybe it was coincidence but the meteor was headed for Connor and Michael’s village. As the meteor fell, bits of it fell off until all was left was a glowing, crimson stone.

A few day’s later a boy called Jacob was wandering through a corn field muttering to himself how unfair it was that he had to work while all of his friends were hanging out. With all of this happening he didn't notice a crater coming up so the boy plunged into the hole.

When Jacob awoke he found himself at the bottom of the crater and, even worse, he didn’t know where he was. His attempts to escape were futile as the walls were too steep. He was about to collapse on the ground when something red caught his eye. When he went over to inspect the object he found a steaming flashing red stone in the center. For a minute he just stood there looking at it, he was contemplating on the idea of touching it when the angel of his mind popped up telling him not to as it might be cursed, but then, there was always the devil, telling him otherwise and it must have been a good lawyer because Jacob then picked up the stone. A strange rush of energy coursed through him and Jacob started to shake. He looked down at his arm, there was a dark, black substance oozing up his arm. Jacob managed to let out a squeal before the sun was blotched out by evil. Pure darkness…

Title: The fright within

Gradually opening her eyes, Laura scanned the scene around her, still weary from her short night’s sleep. As if she she got bitten by a snake she shot up with fright, looking at the stone ivy walls around her. Suddenly her heart's beat rapidly increased as she saw a human skull lying on the cobble floor. “W-where am I? she said to herself. Scrapes were engraved on the stone wall, some of them resembled words like ‘HELP’ and ’mercy’. Truly spooked by these engravings she wondered if she would make it out alive. Grumbling and moaning soanded at Laura’s feet as her brother came to his senses. “Quit it out Laura, i’m trying to sleep!” moaned Laura’s reluctant brother, Michael. “WAKE UP!” Laura boomed at him as he slowly got up to the floor. “Where are we?” Michael mumbled, still not clear of his surroundings.
“I don’t no but this is definitely not a great place to be,” Laura explained, pointing to the skull lying on the floor and the engravings on the wall. “Gosh, this place gives me the creeps,” Michael said, still not sure if he was dreaming or not. Laura cleared her throat and exclaimed, ”Well there's one thing we know for sure: we need to escape,”.

Title: The hidden gem

While the world was black and white and covered with sadness, there was a brother and a sister seeking for adventure in their country, South Africa. While walking to the market on sunny morning, they overheard the police officers on their horses talking about a magical gem hidden somewhere in the jungles. James and Mary was very curious so they headed home straight away. When they got home, the two siblings got ready to go. It was a long, tiring walk but they finally made it to the jungle.

When they got there there was no people or houses but lucky Mary had gone to survival camp for one year. James used to be jealous about this, but at that time he didn’t care. He was just focused on his one and only goal, the gem.
